Rubirosa raised 11 puppies. Now she’d like to spend an entire afternoon napping in the sun with someone who’s hers. Rubi is a 1-year-old, 40-lb Flat-Coated Retriever mix with a big soft spot for her people. She’ll happily join you for a hike, get very excited about dinner, and then settle right next to you on the couch. She loves a game of tug, knows “sit,” and would like you to know that she’s available to supervise anything happening in the kitchen. She sleeps through the night in her crate and is doing most of her potty breaks outside. She’s still learning to walk on a loose leash and keep all four paws on the floor when she says hello. Rubirosa plays a lot like a puppy when it comes to other dogs, and will do best with one in a home that can tolerate her wanting to play all the time! She is the sweetest dog! A patient adopter who’s home often and enjoys getting outside would be right up her alley. We have a feeling there’ll be a lot of couch cuddles.
